ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

WHAT THIS IS:

Homework that you choose (Tarea Que Escojes or TQE) is a triweekly homework assignment. You may have daily homework assignments as well as an occasional project to work on in class or at home.

WHAT TO DO:

  1. There are many topics for the year. On the start date of a TQE, you should PICK one of the topics (whichever you like- you need to his 5 categories throughout the year).
  2. Research the topic (online or in the library). Visit my website! www.srtaclegg.com – there are some websites that will help you. You are not limited to those links on my site.
  3. Write an essay of over 250 words in English (two pages written or a page typed) about the topic. (In your own words- do NOT copy/paste from the Internet.)
  4. Include a list of websites or books you read/visited. (AT LEAST 2 SOURCES, Include URLS)
  5. Hand in to ME no later than 2:30 on the date it's due (regardless of ABCD day)

TQE's will be worth 70 points. The following is how you will be graded:

Student has failed to provide a list of reference websites and/or book titles and authors.

WHAT SHOULD YOUR ESSAY HAVE IN IT:

  • Introduction & Conclusion
  • At least 250 words that is spell checked and grammar checked and revised
  • At least 2 clearly indicated citations/sources of information (my website is not one!
  • Your essay should answer the six basic questions: who, what, where, when, why and how: Ask those about your topic: who is the person or who is involved in the holiday/event? What takes place or what is important about this topic? Where is the person from or where does the event occur? When did the person live or when did the event take place? Why is this topic important?
  • Paragraph to draw conclusions: why is this relevant to culture/class? What did you learn that will help you in the future? (this paragraph can be your conclusion)

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:

You will lose 5 POINTS for every school day that a TQE is late.

If you copy/paste ANYthing from the Internet OR copy/paste from another student- that is plagiarism. No excuses. You will receive a ZERO on the paper as well as a referral and a phone call home.
